Los Angeles, CA March 19, 2020--Although the corona virus crisis has temporarily shuttered the Cinema Bar in Culver CIty, CA—where Hot Club of Los Angeles’ acclaimed Monday night gypsy jazz residency has been running since 2011—the group is streaming weekly performances online from Doyle Audio.

The next live stream is scheduled for Monday, March 23, 9-11pm PT with special guest, guitar maestro John McDuffie joining HCLA for two sets of the band’s trademark mix of Django Reinhardt repertoire; French, Roma and Russian songs; straight ahead jazz numbers; soundtrack selections and gypsy jazz-inspired originals composed by band members. Joining with McDuffie will be HCLA members Jake Bluenote (guitar/vocal), Carl Byron (accordion/piano/vocal), Paul Eckman (bass) and Jim Doyle (drums/producer).

The concert can be streamed via:

The band’s new album, Cinema Swing—available on CD Baby, Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify and other digital music services—is earning rave reviews:

“Absolutely brilliant! Great writing and wonderful, uplifting playing!"--Jazz America Radio

"The rhythmic joie de vivre and musicianship that makes their shows worth the drive from Pasadena animates their second album.”--Pasadena Weekly

“This is really something to kick up your heels to whether they are dipping in the old school bag or getting ready for jukeboxes in space stations. First class all the way". -- Midwest Record

HCLA was the cover story of the March 5, 2020 edition of The Argonaut:

Jackson Browne calls HCLA “an LA treasure”; Mike Myers of the Santa Monica Arts Commission writes “best live music experience in town!” According to LA Weekly, Hot Club of Los Angeles "keeps gypsy jazz alive”.
