Kate MacLeod’s Mind The Gap
Kate MacLeod’s Mind the Gap Mind the Gap has banded together since Kate's been living part-time in Harpers Ferry, WV, looking after her 98-yeqr-old Mom. New friends and music have come from her returning to her roots, fostering new inspiration, as you can hear in this inspiring love song. Kate MacLeod's Never Looked So Good to Me Before, captures the bright and optimistic feeling of new love that renews the soul and rejuvenates life. As with many of her songs, it began from hearing something that someone said, this time during a car ride on winding roads through green fields and sycamore trees. The band hopes that you can hear the classic sounds and measured lyric writing of early country and traditional music that the musicians in Mind the Gap have all been in influenced by, but have added a fresh take on.The harmonies for the third verse are an homage to all of the great harmonies that have influenced us; such as The Louvin Brothers, and Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerrard. This song was recorded at Cabin Studios in Leesburg, VA, with engineer Dustin DeLage. In addition to the band’s input on this, Kate dusted off the piano keys for playing on this track.
