KG Music Press is proud to announce both NOCONA and CALICO the band
will be playing Stagecoach Music Festival!
STAGECOACH IS THE COUNTRY & ROOTS MUSIC COUSIN OF INDIE FESTIVAL COACHELLA-APRIL 25-APRIL 27 IN INDIO, CA

CALICO the band and NOCONA will be on the Honky Tonk Stage
Saturday, April 26 and Sunday April 27

CALICO the band- L-R:  Manda Mosher, Kirsten Proffit and Aubrey Richmond-- Formed in late 2012, CALICO the band creates a refreshingly lush, original, 3-part harmony reminiscent of an earthier Dixie Chicks mixed with Crosby, Still and Nash. Don’t let their good looks fool you, CALICO can write a mean hook and perform their sonic gems with total dedication.  Quickly becoming one of the most popular requested acts on the live music scene, their extensive touring earned them the title of “National Touring Artists of the Year” from the Los Angeles Music Awards.

CALICO represents Gretsch Guitar’s roots instrument line collectively playing acoustic guitar, resonator, mandolin, banjo, fiddle and harmonica.  The band is now  putting the finishing touches on their new record, which they hope to release this summer of 2014.  The band has recently completed a self-titled 8-song EP, which is available on bandcamp.  They have also released a single, “Beautiful Lie” which was played on the hit ABC TV show, Nashville.  The band will be releasing a full-length recording in August.

"Jaw dropping"--Neil Portnow  President & CEO-The Grammys

“I have been wanting to see the band for the last few months because of all the buzz generated by this dynamic trio. Believe me, the hype is nothing compared to the real thing. Proffit (Snapdragon Calico), Mosher (Perry Rose Calico) and Wyatt (Juni Calico) are the best thing to happen to music since the Dixie Chicks!”--Robert Leggett Examiner

NOCONA is an LA-based Americana country- punk-blues act with a psychedelic Mexicali twist.   The band is comprised of husband and wife team, Chris and Adrienne Isom, Annie Rothschild (all 3 formerly of the band Paladino) and Justin Smith (Old Californio, The Seeds).

No strangers to festival crowds, the band just got back from 7 shows at SXSW! In 2013 they played Bonnaroo Music Festival and The Bay Area’s Save the Waves Festival. They received rave reviews after playing Fillmore West with ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra)  and SF’s Independent opening up for Broke Down in Bakersfield (Tim and Nicki Bluhm), where ALO member Dan Lebowitz (Lebo) joined them on pedal steel. They have recently released a self-titled 7" vinyl ep and NOCONA has already begun recording their next full length release.

"Our (second) requested video of the week is for "Brimstone," a fantastic single from Los Angeles-based band Nocona's self-titled upcoming album. Don't you wish all your arguments looked this cool? This video pretty much had me aesthetically in the first scene, when they showed a cool car on a mountain in California (I'm a simple person, it's all I need!). I also really liked the song until about half-way through when the whole band kicks in... and then I absolutely LOVED it!"—William Goodman, CBS the Feed

"Los Angeles-based band, Nocona, would be right at home on Chicago's Bloodshot records - a label that many insurgent country bands have called home for nearly 20 years…(Nocona) is a new band with a brand new record that eschews the broken hearted, tear-in-my-beer aspects of honky-tonk and instead pours considerable energy into ramped up tempos that share as much with Black Flag as they do The Man in Black."—Joe Armstrong, Independent's Day Radio
